The One...

Dumbest Quote of the Day...

“LONDON (Reuters) - The first half of 2008 was the coolest for at least five years, the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) said on Wednesday.

Global temperatures vary annually according to natural cycles. For example, they are driven by shifting ocean currents, and dips do not undermine the case that man-made greenhouse gas emissions are causing long-term global warming, climate scientists say.”

Wow.  Just wow.  The hysteria just won’t go away.  Ever.

Deep Thought 15

I thought this was too good not to post.  It is from Glenn Beck, and I think it is really good, especially in cutting through some of the BS out there and show Obama for who he really is- an egomaniacal lump of poo, who happens to be at the worst a out and out Marxist, and at the very least an idiot socialist.

The issue:

ObaMyths: Yes, this time, the idiot will most likely be your conservative friend. All of these ridiculous email rumors about Obama weaken our position, thus, they need to be addressed. There are way too many real, factual problems with Barack Obama to get sidetracked in Urban Legend.

What the liberal (or in this case, misguided conservative) whiners say:

1. 'Barack Obama is a secret radical Muslim!'
2. 'Barack Obama refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance!'
3. 'In his first book Obama wrote: "I will stand with the Muslims if the political winds shift in an ugly direction'
4. 'Barack Obama was sworn in on the Quran, NOT the Bible'
5. 'Barack Obama's ears are so big, if he's elected President, he could cause a total eclipse of the sun if he goes up in Air Force One!'

Your winning, logical, reasoned arguments:

1. No, he is a converted Christian, whose father was Muslim. There is no evidence at all of his having been raised at some radical Madrassa in Indonesia during his childhood. That was a rumor thought to have originated from the Hillary Clinton campaign. A far better and TRUE argument is that he spent 19 years in the radicalized "Black Liberation Theology" Trinity United Church, with Pastor Jeremiah Wright. With "BLT's" origins in Marxism and hatred for whites, this should be a concern to ANY thinking American. It is also accurate to say that Barack Obama has some VERY radical associates. Anti-American Reverend Jeremiah Wright for one. Weather Underground terrorist, William Ayers, who bombed the Pentagon in the early '70's for another. The mentor to whom he refers in his first book, "Dreams From My Father", Frank Marshall Davis, was a Black poet and avowed member of the Communist Party USA. He mentions in that same book that in college, he preferred the company of Marxist professors, among other radicals. So, a Muslim? No. An extremist and a Marxist? Yes.

2. The true origin of this rumor, is that at a particular campaign appearance during the primaries, Obama was onstage with Hillary Clinton and Bill Richardson. When the National Anthem was played, Hillary and Richardson both placed their hands over the hearts for the anthem. Obama stood with his hands clasped in front of him. Disrespectful? Yes. He has also alternately said he wouldn't wear a flag pin on his lapel, then said he never said that, then said he would, then didn't again. Obama also recently removed the American flag from he tail section of his customized campaign jet, and replaced it with his "O" logo. Ego over patriotism?

3. Actually, he doesn't say anything like this statement in his first book. Someone took what he said about being careful in a post 9/11 world, not to remove any groups rights, and twisted it into the "Muslim" statement, but he makes no specific reference to Muslims at all.

4. Obama was sworn in on the Bible, like everyone else. This rumor confuses Muslim Congressman, Keith Ellison of Minnesota, with Obama. Ellison was sworn in on the Bible in the group ceremony with all the other freshmen in Congress, then used the Quran for his private ceremony. In their private ceremony, officials can be sworn in on the Yellow Pages if they want.

5. After checking with NASA's solar scientists, this one actually appears to be true.

It was …awesome.  I am such a huge fan of this Batman.  The Joker was great, but I thought 2-Face really was the great villain.  I wish they hadn’t killed him off, because he would be great in another movie.  I wasn’t sure how they were going to pull off Harvey Dent making the transition from squeaky clean to deranged villain, but they did, and with flying colors.  I am hoping that he wasn’t really dead, and they will have him come back to menace Gotham.  Both Sharel and I agreed that this Rachel Dawes was much better than Katy Holmes, and Sharel was disappointed when they offed her.  But we both realized that it had to be in order for Dent to make his transition.  Heath Ledger was very good at being the Joker, but I think all this Oscar talk is just a “lets fawn over him bc he od’d”  I thought Gary Oldman did fantastic, as always.  Christopher Nolan is now the King of the comic book movies- eat it Brian Singer.  (Let’s be honest- X-Men great, Superman- really bad) And of course we both thought Christian Bale was awesome as Bruce Wayne.   The best part of the movie was the lighting.  Batman Begins had some dark dreary lighting, but The Dark Knight was not afraid of the light.

Peace- I’m out.

Deep Thought 14

I sent a letter to the Reverend Emmanuel Cleaver II informing him of my desire that offshore drilling be allowed.  Here is what his Eminence the Turd sent me in reply:  My remarks in italics.

Dear John:

Thank you for contacting me regarding offshore drilling of oil and gas.  I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this important issue. No you don’t, you are going to do whatever the party line is.

As you may know, proposals in Congress have repeatedly promoted the exploration of oil and gas off our nation's coastlines. But you have always opposed them, so why even bring it up.  Recently the Administration announced that it supports the opening of areas of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) for oil and gas development.  The President lifted the executive branch moratoria on the OCS imposed in 1990 by President H. W. Bush.  However, a Congressional ban on offshore drilling remains in place.  Many in Congress like me oppose lifting the offshore ban, arguing that there are still several million acres leased onshore and offshore by not yet used for production. . During the House subcommittee markup of the FY2009 Interior and Environment Appropriations bill, an amendment to lift the offshore moratoria was defeated by a vote of 6-9.  Additionally, on June 26, 2008, the House defeated a H.R. 6251, the Responsible Federal Oil and Gas Lease Act.  This bill would have increased rental fees on non-producing oil and gas leases, shortened initial lease terms from ten to five years, and denied new federal leases to those not developing the leases they have. And you think this bill being defeated was a bad thing that I should shake my head at.

I believe drilling off our country's coasts is a short-sighted and potentially hazardous answer to high gas prices. So is touting science fiction solutions to the problem.  While I understand the need to gain access to more energy resources, (no you don’t) expanding drilling off our coasts is not a sensible or long-term solution. Wrong on both points. The potential energy gained from the petroleum accessed by offshore drilling is not minimal and does nothing (everything) to address our nation's energy crisis.  A growing demand for fuel and increased greenhouse gases (baloney) in the atmosphere can be lessened by real investments in alternative fuels (technology that has not been invented yet.)  Congress should do more to develop resources such as ethanol, electricity, biofuels and hydrogen to power personal vehicles. This is science fiction crap.  Wind and solar energy have already been proven to effectively heat and cool homes. No it hasn’t.  I hope the people in Fairbanks where it is dark for 3 months out of the year enjoy having no electricity.  These energy sources are clean, renewable and abundant, and horribly expensive that would do nothing but allow a holes like you to enjoy a certain standard of living, while the poor will become even more destitute. and I will use my position in Congress to encourage the investment in these resources.  If any future legislation comes before Congress proposing drilling for oil and gas offshore, I will oppose such measures because I am a giant douche, Americans deserve real solutions to our nation's energy crisis.

Again, thank you for sharing your views with me.  Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I may be of further assistance.  Also, I encourage you to visit my website at http://www.house.gov/cleaver, where you can sign up for my electronic newsletter and receive updates on my latest activities as your Representative.

Sincerely

Emanuel Cleaver, II Supreme Turd

Member of Congress

Deep Thought 13

How come it is stupid to drill for oil because it will not provide immediate relief, yet it is smart to spend millions in tax dollars to fund alternate forms of energy- many of which still exist in the realm of science fiction, and will not provide immediate relief either.
I am just trying something new out.  Hang on.

ok, now I can continue updating as I have discovered that I can email my posts in. Sweet, huh.

They blocked google sign in at work because people were using gmail to send business related emails to other title companies. That is a big no no because it is confidential information that needs to be sent through secure emails. But like most things in life, a few people ruin it for everyone else. Now everyone can continue to look through the window of my soul.

Peace, I'm out.
