Deep Thought no. 9

Imagine this:

28 year old, unmarried male

frequents Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun -alone- every weekend

Thinks people who drive hate bicycle riders because "they are jealous of how happy we are."

Believes that bands actually play better in concerts he attends because they see him and feed off of his energy

wants to ask for a raise at work because he "makes co-workers more productive and happy because they see [his] enthusiasm and hard work and it inspires them"

Wants to move to Brussells, because it is the center of the "progressive" universe

No it's obviously not me, but I sit by him at work- day in and day out...

Welcome to my little slice of hell.

"We should not assume; however, that just because something is unexplainable by us, it is unexplainable." - Neal A. Maxwell. Not My Will, But Thine pg 124

Deep thought no. 7

"I decided a long time ago that I had faith in the command and I had no faith in the reasons that had been suggested for it ... Let's (not) make the mistake that's been made in the past, here and in other areas, trying to put reasons to revelation. The reasons turn out to be man-made to a great extent. The revelations are what we sustain as the will of the Lord and that's where safety lies." (Dallin H. Oaks, interview with Associated Press, in The Daily Herald, Provo, Utah, June 5, 1988.)

Deep thought no. 6

DC V Heller:

"Free at last, free at last..."

Although there can still be some regulation that will have to be fought, they can never take our guns away now. I urge everyone to celebrate this day as "shoot a criminal day." Already the liberals are predicting mass murders of babies and old people in response to this ruling. It will be interesting to see if the crime rate in DC and Chicago go down, or up, or remain the same in the next couple of years.

(PS- I am kidding about the shoot a criminal thing, please let our justice system handle the criminals.)

Deep Thought no.5

George Carlin never was funny.

Deep thought no. 4

Ben Stein's deep thoughts:

Who represents the middle class in this country? We have lobbyists and advocates for the wealthy, and advocates and lobbyists for the poor, but where are the lobbyists and advocates for the middle class?

MadOgre's deep thoughts:

A communist revolution does not work when a country has a middle class. So, communists seek to eliminate the middle class. A communist revolution needs poor people and rich people, no in-between.

Danny's deep thoughts: America's shrinking middle class. Tax burdens that strain small business owners. Think someone might be trying to eliminate the middle class?

Synonyms of the word communist: liberals, activists, progressives, environmentalists...

Deep thought no. 3

Recession: A period of general economic decline; specifically, a decline in GDP for two or more consecutive quarters.

Have we seen a decline in the GDP for two consecutive quarters? No.

Can anyone predict a decline in the GDP for two consecutive quarters? Not without a crystal ball.

When do we know we are in a recession? See above.

There is no "verge of a recession." You either are or are not in a recession. Historically, no one knows they are in a recession until after the fact.

Before anyone starts yelling at me, sure, the economy is not so great right now, but that is mostly due to rising food and fuel costs. Oh, and the minimum wage hike. We could possibly be experiencing a recession right now, but no one will know that until December.

Deep thought no. 2

Can you name one politician that really cares about us? One that won't sell out his or her own mother to get elected? If there are ones like that, I bet you can count them on one hand. And the few who are like that, usually don't stay in politics too long.

Deep thoughts no. 1

Since Sharel and I want to keep politics off of our other blog, the creation of Danny's Deep Thoughts was warranted. This will be a place where I will share my innermost thoughts on all things. Mostly political. If you disagree, feel free to not read my blog, as I will be following a liberal practice of zero tolerance for comments and/or ideas that will be in or are in direct conflict with my ideas and/or comments. To borrow from the Religion of Global Warming, the science is settled, there will be no debate. My ideas are not to be disagreed with. Period.

Deep Thought no.1

"If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear." Take it to heart people. The media is predicting a coming apocalypse thanks to global warming and George Bush. We hear in Church that we need to get our houses in order, food storage, and 72 hour kits. From some people this has reached a fever pitch. The church has been advocating preparedness since the 1800's, and there very well may be some disaster that is going to come down on us, but if we have the food storage, the 72 hour kits, and are living our lives to be worthy of the spirit, then we don't need to fear anything, even Obama.

In other words, get prepared, then take a chill pill. Smile, laugh, have fun.
